Iced Matcha Almond Milk Latte

I'm a coffee drinker and I always felt like I NEEDED coffee in the morning until I met the magic of matcha green tea powder! I used to order this drink, not really knowing what it was, from Starbucks, but of course they have added sugar and who knows what the quality of their ingredients are.

Side note, I was getting Starbucks every morning and every time I had it that day I had stomach cramping and tummy problems as soon as I stopped for a week it went away. 

 

Anyway, this drink is not only DELICIOUS, but very beneficial. Matcha contains L-Theanine, an amino acid that helps your body to process caffeine differently and create a state of calm alertness, it gave me a clean, focused, energy without the jitters, a more sustained energy boost with no crash. While one serving of matcha has much less caffeine than coffee, it has 10x the amount of antioxidants of regular green tea! Oh and TMI... it still moves things along, if you know what I mean ;)

RECIPE

Ingredients:

 

1 tsp Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder 

12oz Homemade Almond Milk or Milk of preference 

Splash of Organic Vanilla Extract

1/2 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt (any salt will do)

Organic Honey

 

Optional to add a little bit of cinnamon on top.

 

Combine all ingredients in a blender for 30 seconds. 

Pour over ice and enjoy!
